MOONDANCE
After the Swan 44 Moondance broke free from her mooring during a late-autumn storm in Long Island Sound, she sustained significant damage to her hull, deck, rudder, and onboard systems. Because transporting the yacht overland was impractical, JBY sent technicians to complete temporary fiberglass repairs on location. Once seaworthy, Moondance was relaunched and sailed under reefed canvas to Jamestown with a powerboat escort. JBY then coordinated a comprehensive, multi-department restoration. The work was completed by early summer, allowing Moondance to return to sailing in stronger-than-original condition and looking like new.
